A Saudi Arabia lawyer, Nouf Bin Ahmed, has called for Cristiano Ronaldo to be deported out of the country after he made an insulting gesture to the fans after Al Nassr lost to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Arabia Pro League.
Lawyer Nouf bin Ahmed reacted to the incident and wants the former Manchester United striker to be punished severely for what he did.
A video was released on social media showing Cristiano Ronaldo grabbing his crotch as he left the pitch in response to fans chanting Lionel Messi’s name.
In Saudi Arabia, the Ronaldo’s gesture is considered a crime against public honor. Also, it is a crime that attracts arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner in the country.
The Ronaldo gesture had also attracted a lot of criticism from a journalist named Ozman Abu Bakr, who wants Al-Nassr to terminate the player’s deal, stating his gesture was immoral and impolite.
However, Al Nassr had defended the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, claiming the player’s gesture was made after he received a blow on his genitals during the match.
Apart from the videos circulating on social media, Ronaldo also made headlines for the wrong reason, as he was seen choking another player, which led to a yellow card in the last match against Al-Hilal.
His challenge looked like a WWE challenge, and the fans made fun of the player. With 15 minutes left in the match, the Portuguese captain scored an excellent goal, but it was ruled out for offside.
The Saudi Arabian lawyer also reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo grabbing Al Hilal’s Gustavo Cuellar. She claimed the attack on the Al-Hilal player does not relate to what goes on in the sporting context of competitiveness.
She asked what was the reason for the change of Cristiano Ronaldo’s behavior. Cristiano Ronaldo was known to be a calm player before.
Al-Nassr’s loss had put them three points behind Al-Ittihad, even with more games played than Dinko Jelicic’s. Al Shabab are in third place, three points behind Al Nassr, with a game to play.
Ronaldo is in contention to win the Saudi Arabia Pro League golden boot. He is currently in third place with eleven goals in 13 matches in all competitions.
However, the Al Nassr fans are demanding more from the 38-year-old striker because they want him to continue dominating the league.
Ronaldo may end the season without lifting a title, which may prompt him to consider leaving the club. The former Real Madrid striker is the kind of player who puts success ahead of money.
He was seen countless times showing how dissatisfied he is anytime his team fails to win a single match.
