Al Nassr attacker Sadio Mane has completed the acquisition of French fourth-tier club Bourges Foot 18.
Mane is now the full owner of the club, and he joins an illustrious list of Individuals involved with football who own football clubs, notably; David Beckham, Gary Neville, and Paul Scholes.
Reports indicate that Sadio Mane has been fascinated with the idea of owning a club, and his relationship with Bourges Foot 18 president Cheikh Sylla has been key in him securing the deal.
Based on some reports, the Senegalese has in the past contributed some funds to the French club to help with their recruitment.
However, after receiving the consent of the mayor of the city, Yann Galut, Mane is now completely in charge of the club.
After the confirmation of the deal, the former Liverpool forward shared a video in which he said:
“We’ve been working with the city for the past three years. We’re here to nurture and organize the club.
“The challenge is immense, but if the people of Bourges remain involved, I’m confident we can achieve our goals. I believe I’ll be visiting Bourges very soon.”
Bourges Foot 18
Bourges Foot 18 are a club located 250 kilometers from Paris in central France, but they have never played higher than the French second division.
They sit second bottom in Group B of the Championnat National, and the club was formed about two years ago, after a merger between two clubs in the vicinity – Bourges Foot and Bourges 18.
Laurent Di Bernardo is the manager of the club and he was appointed on May 5, 2021.
They play their home matches at the Stade Jacques Rimbault located in Bourges, France and the stadium capacity is 7,500.
The city boasts of teams like Cannes, who have gone on a downward spiral since producing French legend Zinedine Zidane.
Some reports are suggesting that Sadio Mane’s acquisition of the Bourges Foot 18 will help young Senegalese players get an in-road into European football.
Mane’s acquisition of the French club is expected to boost the club from its current state of disarray to a state of positive fortune.

Meanwhile, Sadio Mane joined Al Nassr from Bayern Munich on August 1, 2023, for a fee of €30 million.
Following a rift with teammate Leroy Sane last season, the handwriting on the wall was visible that the end of his days in Bavaria was near.
The 31-year-old finally exited the club in the summer of 2023, joining Al Nassr as aforementioned.
Mane has formed a monstrous partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo last term, and that has been visible in their goals contribution.
Sadio Mane has scored 8 goals and provided 2 assists in 14 appearances for Al Nassr across all competitions.
The Senegal international last scored in their 4 – 3 over Al Duhail in the Asian Champions League.
