Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has recently revealed that he won’t sign a new contract with the Dutch giants as he set his eyes on a move to another club.

Futballnews gathered recently that Bayern Munich and Manchester United were in the race to sign the Dutch international. A few weeks ago, it was reported that Bayern Munich had reached an agreement with Ajax to sign the midfielder for a transfer fee worth €19m plus €5.5m add-ons on a 5-year deal. His contract at Ajax also includes a 7.5% sell-on clause fee.

The 20-year-old midfielder started his football career at his boyhood club where he played at the heart of the midfield. He made his debut at Ajax at the age of 16 which makes him the youngest debutant at the club.

Since then, Ryan Gravenberch has made 103 appearances in which he bagged 12 goals and also assisted another 13. He has also earned 10 international caps with the Netherlands national team.

He’ll be linking up with one of his teammates, Noussair Mazraou who is also set to leave Ajax for Bayern Munich.

Mazraoui, whose deal will be expiring this summer recently struck a four-year deal with the German club. He is one of the few names who will be leaving Ajax this summer with the likes of Antony, Timber, and Sebastien Haller being linked with moves to other football clubs.

Recall that Ajax’s former manager, Erik Ten Hag recently agreed to join Manchester United as their new manager starting from the next football campaign.

Ryan Gravenberch will be joining other top-class midfielders such as Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Marcel Sabitzer, and Corentin Tollisso (who is leaving Bayern as his contract expires this summer).

Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich are already guaranteed starters, so it means Gravenberch would not have an easy route to the starting lineup as he has to fight for a place under their head coach, Julian Nagelsmann.

Futballnews gathered that Ryan Gravenberch will be on a plane to Germany this week to sign his five-year deal with Bayern Munich after he waved goodbye to his teammates at Ajax.
