Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich have announced the signing of Ajax and Netherlands midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
Gravenberch joined the German champions on a 5-year deal keeping him at the club until 2027. The deal cost Bayern Munich a total of €30 million.
Gravenberch had an impressive 2021/22 season at Ajax which was the main reason he attracted the attention of clubs across Europe.
Ryan Gravenberch was one of the key players at Ajax during the reign of coach Erik ten Hag who has also left the club for Manchester United.
Due to his outstanding performance at Ajax, the 20-year-old earned himself a call-up to the Netherlands national team and has since made himself an important figure in the team despite his age.
Although the deal between him and Bayern was completed last month, Bayern Munich decided to announce his arrival this month, Monday, June 13, 2022.

The Bundesliga champions secure his services when Ajax revealed that they are open to accepting a reasonable offer for Gravenberch. The Netherlands midfielder is expected to be with the German team for pre-season.
Gravenberch has revealed that he didn’t have to think for long before accepting the offer from Bayern Munich.
In his first interview with Bayern official website, Gravenberch said: “When the offer came from FC Bayern, I didn’t have to think about it for long. FC Bayern are one of the biggest clubs around; players from all over the world want to play for this club.
“I’m coming to Munich to win lots of titles – and FC Bayern are used to winning lots of titles. Anything is possible with this club, including winning the Champions League. The togetherness in this team is very strong, which I like.”
FC Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic added: “Ryan Gravenberch will offer a lot to our team. He’s one of the biggest talents in Europe, has superb technical ability, always finds solutions in tight spaces, is very dynamic and a goal threat.
“The fact he’s chosen FC Bayern shows that he’s convinced by us as a club and the opportunities here. We love players with that mentality. We’re confident that we’ll enjoy lots of success with him.”
Gravenberch had previously turned down an offer from Manchester United before joining Bayern Munich. Moving to Manchester United means reuniting with his former manager, Erik ten Hag but he decided to join the German champions.
The move to Munich makes him the second Ajax player to join them this summer as they have already signed Noussair Mazraoui.
