Portuguese and Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves sent a message to Marcus Rashford after scoring against Liverpool in the Premier League.

    Wolves

Wolves dismantled the2021/22 Premier League and Champions League runners-up in an emphatic style at the Molineux to jumped out of the relegation zone.

Julen Lopetegui’s boys took a pound of flesh from Liverpool after the latter bundled them out of the FA Cup.

It was another show of class and character by Wolves as they thumped the struggling Jurgen Klopp side with a convincing 3-0 win.

Liverpool have never been worse in the first half of a Premier League game. Wolves made mockery of the Reds, pouncing them on every angle.

After Everton’s shock win over Arsenal at Goodison Park, Wolves knew what was at stake going into the game against Liverpool.

They needed a win to exit relegation, and got the job done in style. The hosts overwhelmed Liverpool and got two quick goals before the first half break.

Liverpool looked as if they will mount a response going into the second half of the game. A wasteful attack worked into the hands of Wolves, and Julen Lopetegui charged his boys to score another in the second half to make it 3-0.

As the game entered the final 10 minutes, it was all done and dusted at the Molineux Stadium. Wolves bagged all three points, and it was enough to lift the club out of relegation.

While Wolves grabbed an immense win over Liverpool, Portuguese midfielder, Ruben Neves, who scored the third goal for the home side, took to a telling goal celebration.

Neves pointed at his temple — his trademark celebration — before pointing to his chest in an effort to make everybody know that he owns the goal celebration that has been made popular by Marcus Rashford this season.

Rashford did the celebration on Saturday when he netted Manchester United’s second goal against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

From the footage of Ruben Neves celebrations, it was apparent he was making it clear that he owns the “finger-at-temple” goal celebrations.

    What does the celebration mean?

Ironically, Marcus Rashford started using the temple celebration when Manchester United traveled to play Wolves at the Molineux Stadium.

The Red Devils hewn out a difficult 1-0 win, with Marcus Rashford scoring the only goal in the game.

Currently, the meaning of the celebration is unknown, but there are speculations players uses it to assert their mental readiness and capacity to take up any opponents.

The celebration is a reinforcement of the fact the player is in top shape mentally and otherwise to take up big teams.

Ruben Neves used the celebration to assert both his resilience and that of the team despite recent struggles in the league.

After scoring against Liverpool, the Portuguese star did not only point to his temple, but remonstrated to the fans that he owns the celebration.
