The defender played for the Bantams on Sunday 23rd April in a match-up against Gillingham at Valley Parade.

Crichlow, who is on loan from Huddersfield had his pocket picked by Timothee Dieng when he was about to score in the 12th minute.

Crichlow revealed on Snapchat that he had deactivated his other social media accounts after several vile messages were targeted at him.

The player wrote: “The way I’m getting death threats in my DMs right now, I had to deactivate my socials. This is going private now.”

“I always take accountability for my mistakes but no time to dwell, still got a job to do! Three games left to get the job done.”

Romoney Crichlow who is 23 years old, is on a season-long loan to Bradford City from Huddersfield.

He has helped Mark Hughes’ side immensely in their bid for promotion as he has featured 35 times for the team.

Fans supported the defender after he took to his social media to reveal the abuses he had faced in recent times.

A fan on Twitter wrote; “This is absolutely disgraceful whoever has sent this to Rom deserves a lifetime ban.”

Oliver Hawkins equalized for Gillingham when it was just 7 minutes to the end of the match.

Bradford fell to 7th place in the league table after the draw, four points off the promotion zone and above the non-playoff positions on goal difference.

On Saturday next week, they will face second-placed Northampton before the visit Crewe in a mid-week encounter.

Bradford’s final-day match will be against Leyton Orient, with Richie Wellens’ side having already been crowned champions.
