Before Chelsea sacked former manager Thomas Tuchel, Romelu Lukaku was at the center of the spotlight at Chelsea.

Todd Boehly played a major role in Romelu Lukaku’s loan move to Inter Milan. Chelsea gave a nod to the departure of the Belgium international after he let out his mind on how he felt about Thomas Tuchel.

Recall Todd Boehly played a major role in Chelsea’s transfer decisions after he bought the club from former owner Roman Abramovich.

Todd Boehly oversaw series of new signings and key departures from the team. Romelu Lukaku fell off the fancy and favor of Thomas Tuchel and was ernestly pushing for a move to Inter Milan.

Before his call for Chelsea exit, Romelu Lukaku was Chelsea’s record signing, costing the Blues a whooping £97.5million. However, he struggled at Stamford Bridge and ended up starting from the bench in most games under former manager Thomas Tuchel.

Todd Boehly was ready to do away with the former Manchester United forward. The American investor immediately gave the nod for Romelu Lukaku’s exit when Inter Milan came calling for a possible loan deal.

Lukaku has revealed he explained his difficult relationship with Thomas Tuchel to Todd Boehly before he was allowed to leave.

Chelsea former manager Thomas Tuchel reportedly ‘broke his relationship’ with Romelu Lukaku after he made a joke that ‘didn’t go down very well’ with the Belgian forward.

Lukaku re-joined Serie A side Inter Milan on a season-long loan from Chelsea, just a year after leaving the Italian giants for Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old, who scored 15 goals in 44 games for Chelsea opted for the loan after falling with Thomas Tuchel.

Lukaku, 29, said: “Boehly decided to let me leave after I told him the whole truth about my relationship with Tuchel.”

The former Everton star said he narrated his own version of what transpired to Todd Boehly before he hit the exit door from Stamford Bridge.

“It was a great chat – I told him my version of what happened”, he said.

Lukaku was reportedly emotional and tearful after the £6.9million loan deal went through. Prior to the move which will see Inter Milan foot the remaining wage earnings of the Belgian in his Chelsea contract, there were pullbacks which nearly hindered the move.

“Then I had the opportunity to return to Inter and Boehly opened the door for me”, he said.

Lukaku picked up an hamstring injury and has started just four Inter games with a goal and an assist for the club.

Despite his current injury situation at the Italian outfit, Lukaku hopes to stay at the San Siro, and is reportedly keen on converting the loan deal to a permanent one.

He added: “Everyone knows what I want.

“I hope to stay at Inter. I love this club and we will speak to Chelsea in order to find a solution.”

He has lauded Inter fans for a warm reception and support, saying they are the best in the World.

“Inter fans are really special, for me they are the best in the world.

“Because even if we are in difficulty they are always there to help the team.

“It was a surprise for me, I thought they were angry with me.

“But in the end they know I’ve always had Inter in my heart. Even if I left, they know I’ve always had Inter in my heart.

“I’ve had conversations with my team-mates, with people from the club and they know I’ve told the truth about why I left.

“Now I’m back and I hope to stay in the future. I mean that for me Inter is worth everything.”

Revealing his future plans, Lukaku admitted he wants to retire in his home country playing for Anderlecht. Lukaku also revealed that his son is playing at Inter Milan Academy and he wants to stay at Inter and getting his axes together.

“The idea is to finish my career with Anderlecht. I’m nearly 30, my son started school here and plays in the Inter academy. I want to stay here and do things right.”
