Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku turned 29-year-old on May 13, 2022, on the same date, his ex-girlfriend, Shani Jamila decided to share an Instagram post that looked like a message directed to the footballer.
Though they have broken up for over six months now, Shani Jamila, a famous Instagram influencer who is based in the United Kingdom, did not fail to send Lukaku an encrypted birthday gift which also looked like a dig at the Belgium footballer.
In the Instagram post Jamila shared to coincide with Lukaku’s birthday, the curvy influencer was seen in a swimming pool. After some seconds, she was seen coming out of the water seductively.
The person behind the camera ensured that all Jamila’s curves were properly captioned. To give the cameraman a proper view of her body, she stood in the water and flaunted her backside a bit before she turned to give the cameraman the front view.
In the background of the attention-grabbing clip, the song of Future featuring Drake and Tams titled ‘I Won’t Wait For You’ was playing in the background.
To ensure that her 134 thousand Instagram followers get the message that the video was made to entice Romelu Lukaku, she captioned it with “just add water”.
Why is Shani Jamila’s Instagram post suspected to be directed to Romelu Lukaku?
Since Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea on August 8, 2011, from RSC Anderlecht, the 29-year-old Belgian striker is known to be a very sweaty person while playing football.
After having a failed spell at Chelsea, he joined Everton where he blossomed into a mega striker. Lukaku’s ability to score goals made Manchester United pay a whopping €84.70 million for his services in 2017.
It was at Manchester United that United’s fans attracted the attention of the world to the sweaty nature of the Belgian striker. Whenever Romelu Lukaku is having a bad run at the club, some of the club’s fans would mock his sweaty nature.
Lukaku escaped such attention when Inter Milan paid €74 million for his services in 2019. But since he returned to Chelsea in 2021, some of his critics have never stopped talking about his sweaty nature, especially whenever he is struggling to score goals.

People started speculating that Romelu Lukaku and Shani Jamila were in a relationship after they were spotted walking side by side on Sardinia, an Italian island.
Then, it was reported that they both traveled to the island on vacation after Belgium crashed out of Euro 2020 quarter-final round in July 2021.
Afterward, they were reportedly spotted traveling together and having a good time a couple of times. However, both Lukaku and Shani Jamila never came online to confirm or debunk that they were dating.
After the relationship crashed a few weeks before Lukaku returned to Chelsea in August 2021, Shani Jamila took to social media to rant about how she would never take relationships seriously until in her 30s.
Currently, Jamila who is from Saint Lucia but spends most of her life traveling the world as an influencer and blogger has ensured that her Instagram page features mainly pictures of her curvy body and nothing private.
The rumor that Lukaku was in a relationship with Shani Jamila went viral months after the footballer ended his over five years old relationship with Sarah Mens. At the time of publishing this report, the identity of Lukaku’s current girlfriend has not been made public.
