We’re a few months into the 2021-22 season, and it’s starting to become evident who will be on top of the scoring lists at the conclusion of the year.

Over three-quarters of the way through 2021, the Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, and La Liga have seen an interesting mix of proven superstars, ones to watch, and lesser-known individuals.

Kylian Mbappe has had one of his best goal-scoring seasons thus far in his career. In Paris Saint-away Germain’s match against Metz, the French forward completed a Ligue 1 double. Mbappe now has seven goals in PSG’s previous five league games after this effort.

Mbappe is tied for second-most goals scored in Europe’s top five leagues with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Andre Silva, and Erling Haaland after the current season.

Mbappe now has to score five goals in PSG’s final four games this season to finish with a 30-goal season. Lewandowski, on the other hand, is well on his way to earning the Golden Boot title this season.

Lewandowski Celebrating For Bayern

In the Bundesliga this calendar year, the Bayern Munich striker has struck the back of the goal an unbelievable 30 times.

Lewandowski, who just turned 33, shows no signs of slowing down. After scoring 41 goals in the 2020-21 season, he was named the European Golden Boot winner.

Lewandowski has six goals in four Bundesliga games so far this season.

Lionel Messi, who has 23 goals, is the second-highest scorer in 2021.

All 23 goals were scored for the now-defunct Barcelona. Messi joined PSG on a free transfer this summer but has only made one substitute appearance for the club.
