Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has insisted Real Madrid did not deserve to win El Clasico after Barcelona stumbled to a 2-1 defeat to the Laliga leaders.

Barcelona had a better of the arch-rivals in the first 45 with IIkay Gundogan giving the home side the lead after six minutes.

However, an elegant second half display by Jude Bellingham downed the Catalan giants. Bellingham even the scores in the 68th minute with a sensational strike from outside the box. He came up clutch again in the second minute of stoppage-time to bag his second goal and complete a dramatic comeback for the Los Blancos thanks to Luka Modrić’s flick.

Real Madrid ran out with a 2-1 win to extend their lead over Barcelona at the top to four points. It was another striking performance by the visitors.

However, Robert Lewandowski, who was back to action for Catalans after a spell on the sidelines, seems to begrudged Real Madrid of the hard-earned win.

Speaking in post-match press conference, Robert Lewandowski said Real Madrid did not deserve to win the crunch tie. To him, the Los Blancos were just lucky with the victory as they played second fiddle to Barcelona throughout the game.

“They actually did not deserve to win the game because we played better but were just unlucky not to grab a win,” he said.

Barcelona will take on Real Sociedad in their next game and will hope to return to winning ways after the defeat.
