AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has indirectly responded to Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo by urging people to ‘not challenge COVID-19 and respect the rules.

In a newly released video on his Instagram page, the Rossoneri forward, who missed a penalty in the team’s 3-0 win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League last night encouraged the Italians to keep ‘distance’ and wear masks in the battle against coronavirus.

Juve star, Ronaldo expressed his frustration in sitting out against Barcelona on Wednesday, posting a picture saying he felt ‘good and healthy’.

Is Ibrahimovic indirecly referring to Ronaldo on COVID-19 protocol?

In what is believed to be an indirect response to Ronaldo’s frustration, the Milan forward said people should respect the rules as ‘you are not Zlatan’.

“The virus challenged me and I won. But you are not Zlatan, don’t challenge the virus.

“Use your head, respect the rules: distance and mark, always. We’ll win!,” he said on Instagram.

Although, this could be said to be an information for the general public as well.

It could be recalled that the lanky striker recovered from the dreaded virus after spending almost two weeks in isolation.

Ronaldo on his part continues to battle the virus, with the hope that his next result will be negative.

So, it is important for all of you out there to follow the COVID-19 protocol to make the society safer for all.

Bad night for Ibrahimovic in office

Although Milan comfortably defeated Sparta Prague 3-0 at San Siro last night in the Europa League, it was not a good night for Ibrahimovic as he was not among the goalscorers.

Milan got the maximum points against the Czech champions through goals from Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao, and Diogo Dalot.

The Rossoneri now tops the group with six points after Lille played a 2-2 draw with Celtic.

Ibrahimovic was looking forward to extending his goal run with a header that landed on the roof of the net and another attempt on a corner, which went wide.

He would however take solace in his performance being the provider of the opening goal. The move started from Diaz himself as the Spaniard won back possession in midfield and sent Ibrahimovic down the right. The veteran reciprocated the favour by rolling it back across and the Spaniard, who cut inside to roll it under the on-rushing goalkeeper.

The hosts were awarded a penalty after Ibrahimovic was bundled over by David Lischka when trying to get on to an Ismael Bennacer cross. However, then the Swede fired his penalty onto the crossbar, letting Sparta off the hook.

The 39-year-old was eventually rested for the second half, with his replacement Leao scoring later in the game.
