Rennes have officially announced the acquisition of France International midfielder Enzo Le Fée from their Breton rivals, Lorient.
According to the club’s reports, the French youth international has signed a five-year contract with the club.
The signing came to the limelight on Friday evening, June 7, as the club from the capital of Brittany announced that they have successfully acquired one of the most promising talents in French football.
Also, renowned Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Enzo Le Fée’s moved from Lorient to Rennes on his Twitter handle.
The French international midfielder, Enzo Le Fée is hoping to stay committed to the “Red and Black” team until 2028, for a transfer fee reportedly worth 25 million euros.
After an impressive season with Les Merlus, the 23-year-old player garnered attention from clubs in Ligue 1 and other leagues.
Reports were suggesting that Borussia Dortmund was also interested in signing him.
However, Le Fée has decided to stay in France, specifically in Brittany, as he joins Rennes, a team that will be competing in the Europa League.
The Frenchman departs from his hometown club after playing 142 matches for the first team during four complete seasons.
It is worth noting that his contract was set to expire at the end of the upcoming season before he decided to switch to Rennes.
In the previous season, he scored five goals and assisted in five more as the team, under the guidance of rookie manager Régis Le Bris, achieved an impressive top-half finish.
Meanwhile, Rennes have also officially announced the signing of Ludovic Blas from Nantes earlier this week.
The 25-year-old French attacking midfielder Ludovic Blas penned a four-year contract with Rennes.
According to France Bleu, the move, which comes a year before the end of his previous contract, is expected to bring Nantes €15m.
Blas is believed to be the first of two midfield signings from regional rivals that the Bretons will make, with Enzo Le Fée’s move from Lorient also done and dusted.

Enzo Jérémy Le Fée, born on February 3, 2000, is a talented French professional footballer.
He recently signed to play as a midfielder for the esteemed Ligue 1 club, Rennes.
His career
Le Fée started his football career in the youth academy of Kéryado. Later, at the age of eight, he transferred to the youth academy of Lorient.
He signed his first professional contract with Lorient on November 13, 2018. On May 10, 2019, he made his professional debut for Lorient in a Ligue 2 match against Sochaux, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
