Barcelona coach, Quique Setien says he is confident that Real Madrid won’t win their remaining matches.

The goalless draw played between Barcelona and Sevilla has left the race for the La Liga title open. This has made Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique admitted that the title would be difficult to win this time around.

The defender has therefore stated that Real Madrid is now favorite to win the title. The Galacticos will be paying away from home against Real Sociedad. With the Catalan giants failing to extend their lead at the top of the table to five points, the draw at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium leaves them just three points ahead of Los Blancos. If the Whites win, they will be tied on points with Barca. Madrid had secured a draw at the Camp Nou and recorded a 2-0 in the reverse fixture in their encounters with Barcelona in the league this season.

Although Barcelona has slightly better goal difference than their rivals, a 4-0 win can victory at Real Sociedad today will see Real Madrid close the gap and overtake the Balugurana on the summit of the log.

Speaking on the development, Pique admitted that ut would be very difficult for Barca to win the League because it does not depend on them. He also stated that it would be difficult for Real Madrid to lose points, seeing how things have gone so far.

Since their return to action after the coronavirus enforced-break, Real Madrid had won their last two games 3-1 and 3-0 against Eibar and Valencia, respectively.

Pique frustrated

While noting that Pique’s words came from frustration, the manager said the Spanish defender would think differently later.

“Opponents always put up a fight, and they have some tough games left. We no longer depend on ourselves, but we have to be optimistic,” he added.

Credit to Sevilla – Pique

Given credit to Sevilla for securing a draw against the team, Pique also claimed that Barcelona created enough chances to win.

While describing the age as competitive, Pique admitted that they were looking tired towards the end of the encounter, but Barca didn’t play badly.

“But they are third in the league. They are a top team, so we should not be surprised that it was difficult.”
