Having been listed as the favorite to take the managerial job of the Brazilian national team, Real Madrid has outlined six managers that could replace Ancelotti when he leaves Santiago Bernabeu.

The Italian tactician and his Los Blancos squad were untouchable last year when they won La Liga, UEFA Champions League, and UEFA Super Cup trophies.

However, the league has seen Los Blancos fall behind arch-rivals Barcelona by 12 points and the title is already looking lost.

Real Madrid are still in a good form to qualify for the round of eight of the UEFA Champions League.

But failure to hoist any major trophy this season could put an end to Ancelotti’s contract at Real Madrid despite his contract running until 2024.

Meanwhile, reports have it that Real Madrid already have a six-man managerial shortlist prepared in case they part ways with the Italian coach this season.

    Thomas Tuchel

Former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel has been labeled as the favorite to take over as Los Blancos manager if Ancelotti departs from Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The former PSG manager Tuchel is currently unattached after being sacked by Chelsea earlier this season.

The German tactician is believed to be keen on the Madrid job following the reports that he is already learning Spanish to prepare himself for the employment.

    Zinedine Zidane

    Real Madrid

Zidane is undoubtedly one of the best managers in Real Madrid’s history.

The 50-year-old French tactician faces a lot of challenges steering up doubts during his first stint at Real Madrid after taking over from Rafael Benitez in the middle of the 2015/16 season.

However, Zidane brought rapid success with him, winning the Champions League that season, and moving on to win the next two titles consecutively in Europe’s biggest competition.

    Mauricio Pochettino

Another former PSG boss, Mauricio Pochettino, is named among the potential Real Madrid manager.

The Argentine boss came to the limelight during his time as Tottenham’s manager but his stint in PSG was far from memorable.

However, his coaching skills and dexterity remain high and Real Madrid have named him in the list of contenders as a possible replacement for Ancelotti.

    Xabi Alonso

    Real Madrid

In the list of the managerial candidates should Ancelotti depart is also former midfielder and club legend Xabi Alonso.

The Spaniard tactician is doing exceedingly great things in his maiden job as a first-team manager at Bayer Leverkusen.

Alonso is frequently described as one of the best midfielders of his generation and proved his worth during his playtime at Real Madrid.

The 41-year-old Spaniard spent time as a youth coach at Los Blancos for a year and trained the Real Sociedad B team for a period as well.

Being a former Real Madrid star and coach, Alonso seems fit for the job as he knows the club’s ethos and philosophy in and out.

    Oliver Glasner

The head coach of Eintracht Frankfurt, Oliver Glasner is also believed to be among the potential candidates to replace Ancelotti.

His managerial stint at Lask helped the team earn promotion to the first division in his second season.

    Jose Mourinho

The 60-year-old Portuguese professional football manager is the current head coach of the Italian Serie A club Roma.

Mourinho, due to his unique coaching prowess, was once dubbed “The Special One” by the British media.

Mourinho is one of the most decorated managers ever and is widely considered to be among the greatest managers of all time.

People within the Real Madrid offices believe Mourinho is likely to take over as the first-team manager if Ancelotti is no longer in charge comes next summer.
