Since the 26-year-old has fallen down the hierarchy at the Bernabeu, Liverpool, Arsenal, and AC Milan have all been associated with an interest in him. However, it now appears that he is well within the price range for Europe’s top clubs.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Los Blancos have placed a price tag on his head of €25-30m, or £21.6m-£25.8m, and if that is met, they will allow him to move on to greener pastures.

Florentino Perez is eager to make a profit immediately to prevent letting him leave for free on June 30, 2023, since his contract expires in a year.

Asensio is reportedly willing to forgo compensation to work on a “convincing project,” which is likely to result in greater playing time for him.

Given Mohamed Salah’s new contract and their already fearsome front line under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool may therefore be a less appealing option.

While Arsenal has fewer attacking alternatives but recently acquired Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, the best chance for Asensio to have consistent playing time could be to join AC Milan.

Asensio has played 235 times for Real Madrid throughout his six seasons in the capital, and has won the La Liga and the Champions League three times with the Spanish powerhouse. He played in only 19 starts and 12 La Liga substitute appearances last season.

The Spanish man hasn’t made enough impact since he joined them. He has always struggled for game time and would prefer to leave this summer because a contract renewal won’t be handed to him. Asensio’s search for significant play time will help him to secure a place on Spain’s 2022 World Cup team.

Many players are aware of the importance of getting enough time on the pitch especially now that the 2022 Qatar World Cup is just a few months away.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are reportedly set to extend the contract of Rodrygo after his amazing performance last season. The Brazilian was among the key players who helped them to secure two trophies last season.

Rodrygo saved them during the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Manchester City by scoring two late goals to avoid elimination. The new contract is expected to keep him at the club until 2027 and he will be among the highest paid players on the team.
