Real Madrid have lost interest in bringing Kylian Mbappe to Santiago Bernabeu, as they confirm Vinicius Junior is currently a better player.
Kylian Mbappe has managed to get people talking about him and his future in the past few weeks.
Real Madrid last summer almost signed the Frenchman but PSG were adamant about keeping the star in Paris.
Los Blancos have since changed their focus from landing the PSG Ace to the club and are more focused on building other players.
The Spanish giants are not considering signing the Frenchman anymore and they do not want any scenario involving any negotiation with PSG.
PSG’s plan for Mbappe is to build a project around him after they made him the club’s captain as they look to achieve a renewal beyond 2024.
Kylian Mbappe’s transfer talks caused chaos and disagreement between PSG and Real Madrid and Los Blancos are not willing to go down that lane again.
Madrid also considers Vinicius Jr above Kylian Mbappe as the Brazilian has proven his worth on the pitch and have propelled them toward another Champions League trophy.
Vinicius’s performance is astonishing beyond Madrid, but the truth remains that Vinicius has been total and absolute since he arrived, at least from the leaders and those who gambled on his signing, much more than that of some coaches until Carlo Ancelotti arrived.
Financially, there is no room for such a move, going by Mbappe’s salary and even less for the incompatibility between Real Madrid, PSG’s owner Al Khelaifi and all that PSG represents.
Mbappe might join Madrid if he resolves his contract in 2024 but it is something that right now is not making anyone at Santiago lose any sleep.
What Happened Between Kylian Mbappe And Real Madrid?
Real Madrid saw their bid for Kylian Mbappe turned down in May 2022 as the Frenchman was convinced to remain at PSG.
Mbappe who was 23 years old then, pushed to leave PSG in the summer despite signing a new contract but it did not materialize.
Mbappe was expected to join Madrid on a free transfer last June after he became a top priority for President Florentino Perez.
Yet, Mbappe’s late change of heart saw the former Monaco forward dump Madrid to extend his contract at PSG and that did not go down well at the Bernabeu.
Mbappe initially cited PSG’s “sporting project” as having convinced him to stay, but later said he had come under pressure from President Emmanuel Macron to continue his career in France.
Madrid afterward put their faith in Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes to deliver alongside Karim Benzema and it has been paying off.
So far, Vinicius, Karim Benzema, and Rodrygo have done well, winning the 2021/22 Champions League and La Liga title, and now they are on the verge of winning the 2022/23 Champions League after winning the Copa del Rey.
