FC Barcelona’s new signing Raphinha has hinted at his dream celebration if the Catalan succeeds in the 2022/2023 UEFA Champions League campaign.
Even though Raphinha has only been a few months at Barcelona, the Brazilian is already hoping for Champions League glory. He is anticipating winning in June because the Catalans have had a strong start in both Spain and Europe this year.
Since moving from Leeds United of the Premier League to the Catalan giants during the summer transfer window, the Brazil international has made an outstanding debut.
Raphinha wants to win a trophy in June of next year because Xavi Hernandez’s side is off to a strong start in both the UEFA Champions League and La Liga campaign.
Raphinha committed to travel the length of the field on his knees after Leeds earned a spot in the Premier League last year.
Raphinha turned down Chelsea during the summer transfer window to sign a 57 million pound contract with FC Barcelona.
Raphinha, a Brazilian winger, hopes to recreate his unique Leeds United victory celebration at FC Barcelona if the club wins the Champions League.
Raphinha remarked, “I’ll do it again, just like I did with Leeds. I’ll stroll the Camp Nou on my knees, or wherever; Istanbul [the site of the Champions League final] would be ideal”.
Raphinha perplexed everyone by crawling the entire length of the field in joy after helping Leeds survive relegation with a final-day victory against Brentford in May 2022.
According to some stories, this is a South American custom used to thank God for granting a person’s wish.
Even though there were no assurances that the Catalans would be able to sign him, the winger turned down offers from other teams in the summer transfer window to join Camp Nou.
Raphinha said, “My dream was to wear this shirt. I’ve been a fan of this club since Ronaldinho joined.
“With him, I started to comprehend the history of this club. I desired to participate in it. Regardless of the money aspect, that dream and those ambitions were stronger than any other offer.”
Over the summer, the winger closed a £57 million transfer from Leeds United to Barcelona. He chose Barca over Chelsea. According to the Brazilian winger he preferred Barcelona to Chelsea.
“I turned down Chelsea because I wanted to wear the Barcelona jersey,” he claimed.
Neymar, a PSG star, told the Brazilian he would not regret joining the Blaugrana when they chatted about his future, the Brazilian revealed.
He said, “I discussed a move with Neymar, and he said that if I get to Barcelona, I won’t regret it, and he was correct.”
Barcelona last took home the Champions League trophy in 2015, defeating Juventus 3-1 in the championship match.
Barcelona’s financial difficulties, however, did not prevent the Catalan club from being listed as one of the most valuable soccer clubs in the world.
In its most recent issue, the American business journal Forbes placed the Catalans as the second most valuable soccer team in the world.
