The manager of Liverpool football club Jurgen Klopp is not happy that Ralf Rangnick has agreed to become the coach of Manchester United, he will start his career as a Premier League manager at Old Trafford.

Klopp described Rangnick as a good coach whose presence in the Premier League would be a threat to the rivals of Manchester United.

Ralf Rangnick, a 63-year-old German tactician agreed to join Manchester United as the interim coach earlier in the week. He is expected to take over from Michael Carrick, the English tactician who has been serving as the club’s caretaker coach since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The latest reports in the United Kingdom confirmed that Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow where Rangnick is currently serving as the club’s head of sports and development has reached an agreement with Manchester United over Rangnick’s potential move to United.

Ahead of Rangnick’s appointment, Klopp, a fellow German coach who knows Rangnick closely noted how great the veteran tactician is.

Klopp remembered how Rangnick developed two German clubs, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig from the scratch through his aggressive attacking football philosophy.

“United will be organized on the pitch,” said Klopp. “That’s not good news for other teams…

“He’s a really good man and an outstanding coach. He’s a really experienced manager and famously built two clubs from nowhere to proper forces in Germany – Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.

“He’s done a lot of different jobs in football, but his first concern was always being a coach, being a manager, and that’s what his best skill is.”

Klopp also remembered his relationship with Rangnick when the Liverpool coach was still a young tactician in charge of a German side, Mainz.

He recalled a scenario where the veteran coach helped a German club to gain promotion to Bundesliga after a telephone conversation between him and the incoming Manchester United coach.

Ralf Rangnick inspired the current coach of Chelsea Thomas Tuchel to pick up a career in coaching.

Klopp said: “Between the coaches and in the football world in Germany, he is very highly regarded and rightly so. Wherever he was, he did an incredible job.

“He started as a young man at Stuttgart, coaching the reserve team, and kept going from there. Ulm getting to the Bundesliga was insane at the time, and he made his way up.

“We faced each other for the first time when I was a young coach and he was at Hannover. He might have forgotten, but they always played our opponent a week later so he called me, the young manager of Mainz, and asked plenty of questions.

“I was happy big Ralf Rangnick was calling me, but he got all the information he needed. Then they got promoted (in 2002) and we didn’t, so he still owes me!”

Meanwhile, Michael Carrick will head Manchester United into the Premier League game between the club and Chelsea on Sunday, November 28. The Premier League game will kick off at Stamford Bridge at 17:30.

However, Ralf Rangnick is expected to be in charge of Manchester United ahead of the club’s league game against Arsenal on Thursday, December 2, 2021. The Premier League game will kick off at Old Trafford at 21:15.
