Rafael Leao didn’t waste time debunking the news linking him to a transfer to a big money move to Saudi Arabian Pro League.
The Portuguese has scored three goals and also given three assists in his first five games for AC Milan in the 2023/24 season.
Leao has started 11 matches for the club and with his form, he averages a goal every 135 minutes of play which means that he is currently better than last season.
Rafael Leao also revealed that he has not done great things in Europe yet to be considering a move to Saudi Arabia League.
Speaking to Portugal GQ: “Saudi League proposals? For me, Champions League is worth more than €10m salary”.
“I still haven’t achieved great results to accept go to that league”, he revealed to GQ.
“I’m focused on doing great things with AC Milan. That’s why I signed new deal few months ago”.
Rafael Leao also added that: “I am focused on doing great things with AC Milan. That is why I signed a new contract a few months ago.”
He also added: “I think the club is on the right track, we managed to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.”
“Now the club’s goal must be to keep going up, to keep adding, to keep being strong. And I’m sure Milan will soon return to winning a Champions League, which is our goal.”
“I speak for myself, I’m young, I’m a player who wants to win big things, the Champions League I think is the dream of every player and we are working for that.”
Recall we also reported that Rafael Leao dismissed news linking him to Chelsea in the summer, and now has done same for Saudi Pro League.
Rafael Leao proceeded by listing his favorite aspects of living in Milan, including the Duomo barbershop, the retail malls, the nightclubs, and the cuisine.
Rafael Leao
Rafael Alexandre da Conceiço Leao, a forward for Serie A team AC Milan and the Portugal national team, was born on June 10, 1999, in Portugal.
He is recognized as one of the top players in the world because of his skill and technical prowess.
Leao made his first-team debut in 2018, after graduating from Sporting CP’s development system, and went on to win the 2017–18 Taça da Liga. However, after an incident within the club, he unilaterally terminated his contract.
He soon signed on as a free agent with Lille in Ligue 1. He joined AC Milan in 2019 for an alleged sum of €35 million.
He assisted the team in winning the 2021–22 Serie A, ending the club’s 11–year title drought, in his third season with the organization. In addition, he received votes for Serie A’s Most Valuable Player and made the 30-man Ballon d’Or shortlist.
Leao, who has represented Portugal at several juvenile levels and was a member of the under-17 squad that won the 2016 European Championship, is a former young international for Portugal. In 2021, he made his senior international debut.
