Premier League matches have been postponed after the demise of the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022, at Balmoral Castle aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

All the England matches, including grassroots, have been canceled for this week. These are the Premier League clubs that will benefit from the cancellation of those matches and why.

    1 Chelsea

Chelsea have not been in their best form recently and the new manager, Graham Potter, would not be in charge of the team if today’s match against Fulham in the Premier League had taken place.

The match was postponed due to the death of the Queen of England. Imagine a Chelsea side playing in an early kick-off without an experienced manager to give out instructions and make team selections. It will be bad for them.

Potter will have the chance to get to know the players better, analyze their strengths and weaknesses, and put together the best formation to make each player excel at their respective positions.

Potter’s first match in charge will be in the Champions League against AC Milan on September 14, 2022. After that, he got a Premier League match against Liverpool on September 18, 2022.

    2 Manchester United

Manchester United played in the Europa League on Thursday against Real Sociedad and had to rest some of their best players.

The cancellation of this week’s Premier League match will allow some of the Manchester United players to get enough rest.

Erik Ten Hag had maintained the use of the same players for three consecutive matches, which had gotten him improved results. Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, and Raphael Varane were rested for their failed Europa League opener.

Those players deserve to get a week off before playing the next match against Sherriff Tiraspol on September 15, 2022, in the Europa League.

    3. Liverpool

Liverpool have been poor this season and their woes were compounded by Napoli in the Champions League on September 7, 2022.

The majority of the players are out due to injury and are expected to return this week.

The Reds have a tricky game at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, but with the cancellation, this week should be a week where Jurgen Klopp can regroup, check out their flaws, bring back the high-pressing things we usually see in Liverpool, and start winning games.

On September 13, 2022, Liverpool will play Ajax in a Group Stage Champions League match. After the match, they have an encounter with Chelsea in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on September 17, 2022.

    4 Brighton

Brighton is looking for a permanent manager after Graham Potter joined Chelsea. Interim manager Andrew Crofts will be in charge.

Brighton will benefit from the cancellation of today’s game against Bournemouth because of the non-availability of a sound tactician.

Crofts may not have enough experience to lead the team to success.

    5. Leicester City

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers and his players deserve a week’s rest in order to be able to rethink, check out the port holes in the defense, and look into the reasons why the club’s attackers are not scoring goals.

Last but not least, why is a team like theirs in the 20th position on the Premier League table with only one point?

Pundits have tipped them to lose this week’s match against Aston Villa, but with a rest and a lot of work done, they may end their next match with three points.
