PSG will pocket an enormous fee of £8.8 million in their upcoming one-off friendly with the Saudi All-Star XI.
According to L’Equipe, the Parisians side will receive the cash reward for playing a one-off friendly match with the Saudi Arabia All-Star XI.
PSG will take on the Saudi All-Star XI which includes players from Saudi top-flight clubs Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal in a friendly match on Thursday afternoon, January 19.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 18:00 in Riyadh and will likely see the 2022 World Cup winner Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo face off on the football pitch for the last time in their careers.
The two football idols, Ronaldo and Messi have gone toe to toe on many occasions during their careers as they’ve dominated European football.
However, it will be the first time they will face each other in Ronaldo’s new venture with Saudi club Al Nassr, who will team up with rivals Al-Hilal and form an All-Star Saudi XI, to play Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain outfit tomorrow.
In what will be a recreation of old-time El-Clasicos, the two football legends will go head-to-head in a highly-sought clash on Saudi Arabia’s ground.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or holder, Lionel Messi, and the likes of Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar Jr are expected to start for the Ligue 1 giants.
The 37-year-old Portuguese international completed a record-breaking move to the Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr last month and will captain his new club in their clash with Messi’s PSG on Thursday.
The five-time Ballon d’Or holder Ronaldo was presented with the captain’s armband of his new club as he sets to make his debut in Saudi Arabia.
Since the Portuguese skipper was officially announced as an Al-Nassr player in late December, Ronaldo has not represented his new club in any of their matches as he’s made to wait for the exhibition clash with PSG on Thursday.
Meanwhile, many have had their mind set on the imminent debut of Cristiano Ronaldo which will happen in a significant friendly against his all-time rival Lionel Messi on Thursday at noon.
One Saudi Arabia businessman has bought the world’s most expensive football ticket in history to watch Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi play against each other in the exhibition match on Thursday.
The Saudi Arabia tycoon already bid £2.2m for a ‘golden ticket’ to see the two all-time greats potentially face off in the friendly game.
The exorbitant price is thought to be the most anyone has ever paid for a football ticket to witness a match.
Cristiano Ronaldo will captain Al Nassr and Al-Hilal all-star in an exhibition match against Lionel Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain at King Fahd International Stadium on Thursday, January, 19.
Kickoff is 6 pm.
