PSG have reportedly completed the signing of Portugal International striker Gonçalo Ramos from Benfica.
According to an early report of Transfer News Live, Gonçalo Ramos is now the latest PSG signing.
This announcement was made this morning, August 7, after Paris Saint-Germain successfully reached agreements on all aspects to bring the Portuguese to the French Capital.
Meanwhile, PSG allegedly made the move to sign the Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos as the Parisians are actively seeking a suitable replacement for Kylian Mbappe whose future with the club remains uncertain.
Ramos left an astonishing impression on Portugal during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He scored three goals and his performance has garnered interest from both Manchester United and the Parisian Giants.
Earlier reports from last week stated that the Ligue 1 champions had already reached an agreement on personal terms with the 22-year-old.
He is the most recent addition to PSG’s list of center-forward targets this summer, following unsuccessful pursuits of players such as Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Dušan Vlahović, and Rasmus Højlund.
The 22-year-old Ramos is well-known for his ability to consistently produce both quality and quantity in his goal-scoring efforts.
Ramos had been linked with several top clubs across Europe, having excelled with Benfica over recent seasons.
In the previous season, he had an impressive performance, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists in a total of 47 appearances across various competitions.
His tremendous effort helped Benfica to emerge victorious and secured their 38th league title in the 2022-23 season.
The Portugal international, who gained recognition for his impressive hat trick in the World Cup knockout stages last year against Switzerland, will be joining PSG on an initial loan deal.
Furthermore, this agreement includes a virtually obligatory permanent clause.
The Ligue 1 club reached an agreement for a one-year loan deal with the 22-year-old player.
And according to Italian football journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the total transfer fee of €80m for Ramos will be divided into a guaranteed sum of €65m and potential add-ons of €15m.
In simple terms, as part of the agreement, PSG must purchase the player for €65m in 2024, with an additional €15m in potential add-ons.
PSG recently made a €60 million investment in acquiring midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon.
Additionally, this summer, the club have successfully acquired talented players such as Marco Asensio, Milan Skriniar, and Lucas Hernandes for their Ligue 1 squad.
Gonçalo Ramos is poised to become PSG’s ninth significant acquisition this summer, joining the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, Lee Kang-in, Lucas Hernandez, Xavi Simons, and Arnau Tenas.
What’s next for Gonçalo Ramos?
As it stands, Ramos is expected to arrive in the French capital this week to be officially unveiled as PSG’s latest signing.
