Mbappe will missed PSG’s next Champions league match.
Paris Saint-German has announced that French striker Kylian Mbappe could be out for the rest of their games this season as the injury update isn’t a positive one.
The French Ligue 1 champions revealed in an official statement on Monday to confirm that the striker had an ankle sprain and damaged ligaments.
The Paris born striker suffered a nasty tackle from Saint-Etienne captain Loic Perrin on Friday in their French Cup final 1-0 win, Mbappe left the pitch in tears and had to walk on crutches with ankle support on his right ankle, the Saint-Etienne defender was earlier shown a yellow card after the tackle, but was shown a straight red after a VAR review of the awful tackle on the striker.
Who injured Kylian Mbappe?
The Paris club released an official statement on Kylian Mbappe’s injury situation saying:
“As announced after the final of the Coupe de France against Saint-Etienne, Kylian Mbappe underwent further examinations to his injured right ankle. The results of today’s scan confirmed an ankle sprain with damage to the external ligament. The player is expected to be sidelined for approximately three weeks.”

The striker is now in a race to make himself fit and available for Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League quarter-final match against Italian club Atlanta in August, unfortunately with the estimated time of return, Mbappe may not be fully fit and likely not feature even if his team makes it through to the semifinal and final.
Sadly for PSG being without their in-form striker at a time when it seems the odds are in their favor to add the Champions League to their trophy cabinet will surely be a sad story
On a happy note, Brazilian star Neymar is fit again after he suffered a knock too in the Coupe de France final but the absence of their homeboy would be a heavy blow they would have to endure as there quest for quadruple continues.
Mbappe is in good spirits while working hard to recover on time. The image below shows Mbappe doing some rehabilitation workout in the pool.
