Marco Asensio is enroute to a fresh chapter in his football career after the Real Madrid deadlock.

Asensio was linked to PSG move since the turn of the year. He rejected contract renewal proposal from Real Madrid as he aimed for a switch to the French capital.

Apparently, his optimism of brokering a deal to join the French champions weighed on Real Madrid chances of brokering a new deal with him. His contract with Real Madrid will expire on June 30.

After eight years with Real Madrid and 17 honours, Marco Asensio was eager for a move away from the club.

Asensio is among some big-name Real Madrid players who have ended up on the bench under Carlo Ancelotti.

Unlike other out-of-favor Real Madrid stars under Ancelotti, Marco Asensio tasted more action with the Los Blancos but was still down the pecking order at the club.

Asensio reportedly had a behind-the-scene agreement with PSG to join the club when his contract at Real Madrid expires amid his struggles at Santiago Bernabeu.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery was also on the trail of the Spaniard, hoping to bring him to Villa Park this summer.

The Premier League club had less chance of signing Marco Asensio with French giants, PSG, in the race. PSG are hoping to fill the gap that will be left on the club’s attack by Lionel Messi’s exit this summer.

As per Fabrizio Romano, PSG have now completed agreement with Marco Asensio to bring him to Parc des Princes in the summer.

The report adds Asensio will be signed in the next few days by PSG. The two parties have reportedly reached agreement verbally on the final details of the contract with negotiations still advancing.
