Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez is a hot shot in the 2024 summer transfer window with top European clubs queuing up for his services.

PSG, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and Real Madrid are some of the clubs linked to the 24-year-old forward. There is a boon for all the clubs lining up for a summer swoop for the Argentine sensation; he lacks game time at Manchester City and has dropped down the pecking since Erling Haaland arrived from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

Futballnews reported earlier that Manchester City have slammed a price tag on the youngster amidst the array of interests in him.

Julian Alvarez

The World Cup winner, who joined City from Argentina Primeira side River Plate for £14m, could take up a new challenge away from Etihad next season.

His original contract with the Premier League champions was a five-year deal set to run till 2027 but after the 2022 World Cup, he signed a new one-year extension to extend his stay till 2028.

Despite tying down the player with an extension, Manchester City are now grudgingly open to his exit but at the right offer. Pep Guardiola still considers Julian Alvarez key to the Cityzens’ squad but could be fighting a lost battle trying to keep him with no assurance of regular playing time.

With Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and PSG jostling to sign the forward, Futballnews takes a look at his possible destinations where Julian Alvarez could flourish among the four clubs.

Atletico Madrid

Since the turn of 2021, Atletico Madrid have registered little or no progress both on the domestic and European front. Diego Simeone’s hybrid style of play, combining low blocks and counter-attacking play may not be a great fit for a striker of Julian Alvarez’s qualities. Known for his confidence with the ball and measured gameplay revolving around a more possessive style, the Argentine may end up struggling at the Metropolitano should he complete a move to the LaLiga outfit.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid is definitely not the best destination for Julian Alvarez. Currently simmering with elite attacking talents in their frontlines with Kylian Mbappe recently added to the list, Alvarez would struggle for game time if he joins Real Madrid – the same challenge he is grappling with at Etihad.

Chelsea

With the frequent reshuffling of hands in the Blues’ dugout, Julian Alvarez’s Chelsea move could be a wild gamble. However, Chelsea could be a better destination compared to the other above-mentioned clubs. With Pep Guardiola’s former student – Enzo Maresca – now incharge of the Blues, the Argentina international could easily jell into the Italian’s attacking and possessive style of play.

PSG

PSG are still in search for Kylian Mbappe’s heir with an array of replacement options in the running to replace the departed forward. Julian Alvarez would definitely flourish in the French capital. With the club known for their attacking style of play and a manager – Luis Enrique – who adopts possessive gameplay, Alvarez would kill two birds with one stone – securing regular game time and contributing to the team.

Where do you think is the best destination for Julian Alvarez?
