French Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain have reached out to Lille for an opportunity to sign their defender, Sven Botman.

PSG made this move after Italian Serie A champions, AC Milan stopped talking with the defender about a possible move to their team.

AC Milan have been the favorite to get Sven Botman’s signature ahead of the summer transfer window, but the Italian champions are yet to agree on terms with Lille.

This is the major reason why they decided to slow down the transfer processes. This could permit Paris Saint-Germain to hijack the talented player from Lille.

The current director of football at PSG, Luis Campos, was with Lille between 2017 and 2020. During this period, he has made good business for Lille and is also an admirer of Sven Botman.

Luis has made it known to Lille that his current club is interested in signing Sven when the next transfer window opens.

A move to PSG will definitely help to strengthen the defensive line of the French club for the next season as they aim to retain their league title.

Top English teams like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have also enquired about the situation of Sven Botman. But the teams seem not to be as interested in him as PSG.

In January, Newcastle United tried to sign Sven Botman into their team. Although it didn’t work out, the team are still very much interested in signing him. Some sources have revealed that they are in a better position to sign the Lille defender.

But Botman is still interested in joining AC Milan next summer even though they have stopped making further offers for the defender. AC Milan were optimistic about signing the defender before the end of the week but seems to have slowed down because of their inability to agree on a fee with Lille.

However, the Serie A champions are still pursuing the signature of Renato Sanches. They believe that such issues won’t happen when they are ready to sign the player. Lille are also in the race to sign Renato Sanches so that he will be a replacement for their player Franck Kessie who is ready to join La Liga giants, Barcelona.
