Chelsea finally made it into the top four as the 2020-2021 Premier League season ended dramatically. Leicester City were almost there before a slip saw Tottenham Hotspur turned the table against them.
The biggest movers of the season remained last season champions Liverpool football club who were able to finish in the top four after crashing down to the 8th spot in March 2021.

Recall that before the last Premier League games of the season, Manchester City have already been confirmed as the champions of the season for the third time in four years which means that their position on the table was already sealed before May 23, the last day of the league season.
Premier League clubs that qualified for the UEFA Champions League
The third and the fourth spots on the Premier League table became reasons for a serious battle involving Chelsea, Leicester City, and Liverpool earlier today, May 23.
At the end of the day, Chelsea lost to Aston Villa 2-1, Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 2-0, and Leicester City lost to Tottenham Hotspur 4-2. The loss Leicester City suffered at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur was enough to knock Leicester out of the top four.
Leicester City’s loss favored Chelsea as they only moved from the third spot to the fourth spot on the league table. While Liverpool’s win over Crystal Palace moved them to the third spot.
1911 – Chelsea are the first side since Everton in 1910-11 to finish in the top four in the English top-flight despite having no player reach double-figures in the league that season. Unusual.

Hence, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea will represent the Premier League in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Narrow defeat at Villa Park, but results elsewhere mean we qualify for the Champions League next season. 👏#AVLCHE pic.twitter.com/fOQ1pmVEsQ

Premier League clubs that qualified for Europa League
As the battle for the top four was burning hot, the battle for the clubs that will grab a Europa League spot was also burning hot.
After an intense battle, Leicester City dropped from the top four to the 5th spot. The 4-2 win Tottenham recorded over Leicester City kept the London club on the 6th spot.
West Ham United maintained their commitment to get something from the season by beating Southampton 3-0. The win kept them on the 7th spot.
Hence, Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur, and West Ham United will represent the Premier League in the Europa League next season.
Relegated clubs
Before the last games of the 2020-2021 Premier League season, the relegated clubs had already known their fates.
Sheffield United got to know that they would go down at the end of the season as early as Matchday 34, while the remaining two clubs – West Brom and Fulham followed suit.
Hence, in the forthcoming season, 20th placed Sheffield United, 19th placed West Brom, and 18th placed Fulham will play in the Championship.
