These are the major statements made by the top five Premier League managers ahead of the matchday two fixtures.

Arne Slot Gives An Update On Liverpool Right Back, Joe Gomez’s Future At Anfield

Liverpool manager Arne Slot expects England right-back Joe Gomez to stay at Anfield beyond this season, even though he has limited playing chances.

During the pre-match press conference, for the game between Liverpool and Brentford, Arne Slot said, “He has worked really hard since he came back.”

“He didn’t play a lot in the Euros, and when he came back in the first sessions, he couldn’t train the whole session, so we had to manage his load, and that was also a bit of a reason why he wasn’t in the team on Saturday.”

“But this week he had a good week in terms of load and how much he could do with the team. He is one of the players that I see new things from and learn things from, which I also combine with other players.”

“It has been a good week for him and us until now. At this moment, I am expecting everyone to be here. But everything can change.”

The defender was left out of the squad that played against Ipswich in the club’s Premier League opener.

Newcastle are currently monitoring the player’s contract situation at Liverpool. They will pounce on the available means to sign the extremely versatile player.

Erik Ten Hag Clears the Air on Jadon Sancho’s Future

Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag gave an update on Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United after the player was dropped from the squad.

In Erik Ten Hag’s pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester United’s match against Brighton, the manager said, “We will see. We have a squad, and I hope we will have a squad with double positioning.”

“When we go into the season after September 1, then that also means you can’t select all the players for a game.”

“But we need all the players throughout the season because this will be a season of survival for the fittest. We have to manage it, but also the attitude of the players is important.”

“Sometimes they will be disappointed, but they have to deal with it. You don’t win with 11, you win as a squad.”

“The prizes are decided next May, so, until then, we need all the players in the squad, and we need a high level of motivation. That is not an expectation; it is a demand from the club and the manager. It is the squad over everything, and that will always be more important than just one individual.”

Barcelona and Juventus want to sign the former Borussia Dortmund star on a permanent deal before the end of the transfer window.

Pep Guardiola refutes the rumours of Raheem Sterling returning to Manchester City.

Manchester City manager Guardiola showed no interest in signing Raheem Sterling from Chelsea after the English star was sent out of the Chelsea squad.

Guardiola made a statement in the pre-match press conference ahead of Manchester City’s game against Ipswich Town about the rumours linking Sterling back to City.

Guardiola who is one of the biggest Premier League Managers said, “He’s a Chelsea player, absolutely. I feel so attached to the time we lived together with Raheem and Enzo.”

Premier League Managers

“So I just wish him all the best, but he’s, of course, a Chelsea player.” Sterling had a successful season at Manchester City, winning all the major domestic English trophies.

The only trophy Sterling failed to win at Manchester City was the Champions League and other European trophies.

He wants to join a new football club, with rumours of Juventus considering signing the winger before the end of the transfer window.

Enzo Maresca Sends Brutal Messages to Chelsea Underperforming Players Ahead of Their Second Premier League match Against Wolves

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca sent a brutal message to the underperforming players in the squad ahead of the Premier League encounter against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Maresca made a statement in the pre-match press conference, saying, “If you think I’m going to give you a chance without working hard, forget about it.”

“I just communicate the players I like and the players I don’t like.”

This came after the manager sent some big-name players like Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell out of the first-team squad.

Enzo wants the players to make the squad weekly on merit, and he is not ready to consider any favoritism.

The manager wants to find the best solution for the players in the squad. He wants to select the best week in and week out in a bid to win silverware in the 2024–25 season.

Chelsea are still well active in the transfer window and are looking forward to signing a new striker, with Victor Osimhen largely on the club radar.
