The Premier League has released its shortlist for three different award categories. Many individuals impressed throughout the course of the last campaign and have been rewarded with nominations for various awards.

    Player of the Season

For the Player of the Season award, a seven-man list was released. Unsurprisingly, Liverpool are represented by three players after an excellent season. Sadio Mane and Trent-Alexander Arnold are joined by their skipper Jordan Henderson. Kelvin de Bruyne also expectedly made the list after a wonderful season where he equalled Thierry Henry’s assists record. Golden boot winner; Jamie Vardy also made the list alongside his runner up Danny Ings. There was also room for Nick Pope after a solid season where he narrowly missed out on the Golden Glove to Manchester City’s Ederson.

    Young Player of the Season

The next category is the Young Player of the Season award where eight names were released. Manchester United’s attacking trio of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial all made the list after scoring over 60 goals amongst themselves. Chelsea was also well represented as Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount got picked. After his heroics in keeping Aston Villa up, no surprise to see Jack Grealish make the list. Dean Henderson and Alexander-Arnold completed the nominations. Arnold was the only player to make both lists.

    Manager of the Season

Lastly, a four-man list for the Manager of the Season award was published. Jurgen Klopp is first on the list after delivering Liverpool’s first title in three decades in record-breaking fashion. Frank Lampard exceeded expectations in his debut season as Chelsea gaffer with a top-four finish and also makes the list. Despite losing out on Champions League qualification on the last day, Brendan Rodgers was selected too for guiding the Foxes to fifth position. Completing the list was Sheffield’s Chris Wilder who led his newly-promoted side to the brink of European qualification as the Blades finished 9th.
