Piers Morgan has denied claims that Cristiano Ronaldo is set to complete a move to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr.

Manchester United mutually terminated Ronaldo’s contract in the wake of an explosive interview that he gave to Piers Morgan on Talk TV.

Ronaldo, who initially asked to leave the Red Devils last summer in search of Champions League football, has heavily criticised the club manager Erik ten Hag, the Glazer family, several board members, and former players.

With the 37-year-old looking for a new club, a recent report claimed that he was close to agreeing on a deal worth £173m-per-year to join Al-Nassr.

However, those reports have been denied by Piers Morgan, who took to social media to simply post “No he hasn’t” in reply to an article suggesting that Ronaldo was on the verge of a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Portugal international has also been linked with Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea, although he is currently focused on the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is now on the hunt for a fresh challenge at a new club, and speculation has been rampant regarding his next destination.

European giants Bayern Munich have confirmed they are no longer in the race for Ronaldo’s signature, while Chelsea are also understood to have ended their interest in the forward.

Whether Cristiano Ronaldo told Piers Morgan about his next club remains unclear.

However, given their close relationship, Morgan has managed to form with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, his words do carry some weight.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabian clubs Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr are reportedly set to battle for the signature of free agent Cristiano Ronaldo. That is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, he said: “There is another club that wants Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Al Hilal are ready to pay big money to get a deal over the line and ensure their city rivals do not secure the superstar’s services.”

Al-Nassr is understood to have tabled a lucrative two-year contract offer to Ronaldo worth £173m per year, and a recent report claims that the Portugal international is ‘on the verge of reaching an agreement’.

It now appears to be a battle between the two clubs as to who can put together a stronger financial package.

Saudi Arabian sports minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal recently expressed his desire for Ronaldo to move to the Middle East, telling BBC Sport: “Anything is possible, I would love to see Ronaldo play in the Saudi league.”

Ronaldo is currently away on international duty with Portugal at the 2022 World Cup and he is set to decide his club’s future as soon as their campaign in Qatar comes to a close.
