Pep Guardiola is still basking in the joy of conquering Europe with Manchester City and he made an hilarious comment after the triumph.

Guardiola led City to the treble and the Champions League title for the first time in the club’s history on the 10th of June, 2023.

The Citizens defeated Inter Milan by a lone goal scored by Rodri to culminate an excellent season.

That victory meant that Manchester City matched the feat achieved by eternal rivals Manchester United in the 1998/99 season, having submerged Arsenal to win the Premier League in addition to victory over Manchester United to win the FA Cup.

Manchester City needed the Champions League title which has eluded them for several years to crown the season.

The final was an intense encounter with Inter Milan appearing the more confident of the two sides in the opening exchanges.

However, Man City’s dynamism came to the fore and they achieved the unbelievable.

The Citizens have now become the 6th English club to lift the European Cup after Manchester United, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and Chelsea.

Guardiola hilariously said: “Just 13 Champions Leagues away or behind them, just 13. So be careful Real Madrid because we are on our way.

“So if you slip a little bit, we will catch you.”

Manchester City have a lot of work to do before they can match up with Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The statement made by Pep Guardiola could be seen as just a joke due to him being an ex-Barcelona player and manager.

The Citizens have been ruthless this season in the Champions League dispatching several top sides on their way to winning the competition.

Manchester City annihilated RB Leipzig in the round of 16 by 8-1 on aggregate, they afterwards defeated Bayern Munich by 4-1.

In the semi-final it was another smashing as they won against previous champions Real Madrid by 5-1.

And obviously, they climaxed their Champions League season with a 1-0 victory against Inter Milan.

Pep Guardiola also stated how difficult it is to win the UEFA Champions League after guiding Manchester City to glory in the competition.

He said: “I feel tired, calm and satisfied, of course, This f*****g trophy it is so difficult to win it. It is impossible.”

Manchester City won the Champions League title after their second attempt in the final.

They lost in the 2020/21 season to Chelsea by a lone goal as it appeared they weren’t as determined as Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.

“Inter are really good. “Be patient”, I said at half-time. You have to be lucky”, Pep said.

“Ederson or they miss it, they could draw. This competition is a coin.”

The former Bayern Munich boss also said his side weren’t at their best level against Inter Milan.

“We weren’t at our best level. After the World Cup the team made a step forward and we were there. It wasn’t our best performance”, he admitted.

In truth, Manchester City didn’t show their domineering side in the Champions League final as they scored the least amount of goal they have scored in the knockout phase.

However, their dynamism showed and they came out victorious over the three time winners.
