    Paulo Dybala, 26, has been selected as the 2019/20 Serie A ‘MVP’ of the season despite only scoring 11 league goals and 11 assists compared to Ronaldo’s 31 league goals.

    while Lazio’s Ciro Immobile was crowned the ‘best striker’ of the league, as he won the European golden shoe with 36 league goals.

    Immobile, 30, signed for Lazio in 2016 for a fee of around €8.75 million, scoring 23 goals in his first season, however, he played the best season of his career during the 2019/20 surpassing his previous personal record of 29 goals in 33 games in 2018/19.

    Other winners of the Serie A awards, Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny won the ‘best goalkeeper award,’ while Inter Milan’s Stefan De Vrij won the ‘best defender award.’

    Best midfielder award was given to Atalanta’s Alejandro Gomez, and young player of the year went to Parma’s Dejan Kulusevski, who has made his move permanent with Juventus.

    Each winner of the award his given a badge to put on their jersey they are allowed to wear anytime during league matches. C. Ronaldo was said to have refused to wear his own badge as he didn’t want to feel superior or given special treatment during matches. 

    Ronaldo in his first season won the Serie A ‘MVP award’ with 22 goals and 11 assists in 33 matches in the league.

    Winners of the award for the 2018/19 season such as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic , Nicolo Zaniolo, Fabio Quagliarella and Kalidou Koulibaly all use their badge on their shirt.

    Christiano Ronaldo joined Juventus in a club-record deal of £105 million from Spanish giants Real Madrid after winning four Champions League titles with them and scoring a stunning overhead kick against the Old lady in the Champions League quarter-final which earned him a standing ovation from the home crowd.

    Ronaldo has made 88 appearances for Juventus with 63 goals and 18 assists in two seasons, helping them to back-to-back league win.

    Juventus play Lyon in their next fixture of the Champions League as they have a 1-0 deficit to overturn.
