Information hovering around Italy indicates that Paulo Dybala wants to sue his former club Juventus for a staggering £50 million.

The amount is the difference between the deal Dybala had agreed with Juventus and his current contract at AS Roma.

The story involving La Joya and Juventus has the potential of resulting in a legal tussle with the Italian heavyweights still owing him £3 million as part of the salary manoeuvre carried out by the club in April 2021.

This news has been reported by Il Corriere della Sera, referring to the testimony declared on the 28th of February by Luca Ferrari, Dybala’s lawyer, alongside the Prisma findings.

During the time, the Old Lady made an agreement with 17 of their players for a manoeuvre that gave room for the team to slash four month wages over a long time.

If a player was set to exit, then he would get that money as a departure incentive. While he was giving his testimony, Dybala’s lawyer also established that Juventus and his client reached an agreement for a new deal in 2021.

In one mails received by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Ferrari outlined the numbers of that contract, an amount a little bit less than £70 million gross in five years.

The agreement was never approved then as the agent of Paulo Dybala, Jorge Antum, was not accredited as an agent in Italy.

Juventus then decided to acquire Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina and did not extend the contract of the Argentine.

The amount the incident has cost Paulo Dybala

This incident has cost Dybala a little below £50 million gross, the disparity between the total amount he would have pocketed home by penning a deal with Juventus and the complete amount he would get from AS Roma.

Dybala joined A.S Roma on a free transfer three weeks after his deal with his previous club Juventus elapsed.

In the summer of 2015, Juventus acquired the services of Paulo Dybala from Palermo for a fee of £32 million, he won 5 Serie A titles and 4 Coppa Italia during his time at the Turin based club.

He also lifted the Supercoppa Italiana on three different occasions. The Argentine has scored 166 goals in 455 appearances for the clubs he has played for in his career.

Dybala has scored 13 goals for Jose Mourinho’s side this campaign in 29 appearances and he is assisting the side as they push for a spot in the UEFA Champions League for next season.

AS Roma are also in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa League where they would face Dutch side Feyenoord in the next round of the competition.
