Argentine football star Paulo Dybala will not renew his contract with Juventus after talks between him and the Italian club failed recently. This means that the 28-year-old Argentine forward is free to join another club on a free transfer this summer.

Before the 2021 summer, reports about talks between Paulo Dybala and Juventus have been going on but the two parties were unable to agree on personal terms.

After the January 2022 transfer window, Juventus continued to push for a new deal with Dybala who is one of the captains at the club. Despite Dybala’s purported interest in signing a new deal with the Italian giants, negotiations between him and the club failed again.

Unfortunately for the 28-year-old Argentine forward, his contract with Juventus will expire on June 30, 2022, which means that he has just three months left to become a free agent.

Reports claimed that Dybala’s representatives spent over two hours negotiating with Juventus on Monday, March 21, 2022. Yet, nothing good came out of the meeting.

Why did Paulo Dybala’s talks with Juventus failed?

Before now, reports claimed that Paulo Dybala earns £222,000 per week, £11,544,000 per year at the Italian Serie A club.

But a report by Tuttosport published on Monday claimed that Juventus attempted to offer Dybala a lower salary. The report also claimed that in 2021, Dybala and Juventus have agreed on a pre-contract which suppose to earn him €11m-a-year, including add-ons. But Juve are not ready to pay that much again.

According to the same report, Juventus were willing to pay Dybala as low as €6-7m-a-year which is said to be too low for the forward who is more or less the club’s talisman.

Hence, Dybala who is currently dating Oriana Sabatini is set to leave the club this summer as a free agent.

Over the years, Paulo Dybala has always been a lover of the Premier League. He reportedly dreams of playing in the English league. Hence, this could be his opportunity to do.

Last summer, Manchester United reportedly tried to sign him from Juventus but the deal failed. Hence, United could be a great option for him especially now that his former teammate at Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo is at the Premier League side.

Tottenham also tried to sign him in 2019 but the deal failed and there are reports that the London side are still interested in signing him. Also, Chelsea are reportedly interested in the Argentine forward but that might not work if the club does not have a new owner before the coming summer transfer window.

At the same time, Dybala reportedly wishes to play for the reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City. Hence, it is now left to see which of the Premier League club will cash in first.
