The 36-year-old talented midfielder drew down the curtain on his career with an emotional video that has been circulating online.
He posted the video with the caption “Thank You, Football.” In the video, he said, “I was priviledged to have been a multi-champion and to have won important things, as well as playing in two world cups and playing for Bracelona.”
“I left a great legacy. In my last game with Corinthians, with 45,000 Corinthians fans, I felt it would be my last game. There would be no better way to say goodbye.”
The former Brazil international played for Tottenham Hotspur from 2013 to 2015, coupled with more than 50 appearances for his national team, Brazil.
He joined Spurs that were in an attempt to replace Gareth Bale after he left for Real Madrid.
Paulinho failed to impress the Tottenham Hotspur fans, and he went ahead to join Chinese giant Guangzhou FC.
In 2017, he returned to Europe to play for Barcelona for a transfer fee worth 33 million.
