With Paul Pogba at Old Trafford in the defeat that saw Man United tumble out of the Champions League, the midfielder claims the burglars were in the house for ‘less than five minutes.

His wife, Zulay, was also at the game, but their two children were at home at the time of the break-in. The youngsters were not injured in any way.

Paul Pogba shared the following on social media:

“Last night our family’s worst nightmare was realised when our home was broken into and burglarised while our babies were sleeping in their bedroom.

“The burglars were in our home for less than five minutes but in that time they took from us something more valuable than anything we had in our home… our sense of safety and security.

“This occurred during the final minutes of last night’s match when they knew that we would not be home.

“My wife and I rushed home not knowing if our children were safe and unharmed. As a father there is no feeling worse in this world than not being there to protect your children and I sincerely hope that no one ever has to feel what I felt last night.

“It is for this reason that I would like to offer a reward for anyone who has a clue to help us. Please send any info to [email protected].”

Pogba is married to Bolivian model Mara Zulay Salaues, whom he met on a Manchester United pre-season trip two years before their 2019 wedding, and with whom he has two sons.

It’s not the first time a home in the Manchester area has been targeted in recent memory; Pogba’s teammate Victor Lindelof’s home was broken into earlier this season, with his wife Maja and their young family inside.

After the incident, the Swede’s wife wrote on social media: “During Victor’s game this Wednesday night we had a break-in at our house in Manchester.

“We are okay under the circumstances but it was obviously a very traumatic and scary moment for both me and my little kids. We are now in Sweden and are spending some time off with our families. Love, Maja.”

Marcus Rashford, Pogba’s Red Devils teammate, also had difficulty on the night, after briefly confronting a group of heckling Man United fans after the game.

A video posted to social media after the game appears to show Rashford strolling by supporters outside the stadium, hearing something said, and then attempting to approach them before being escorted away by security.

As he walks away, he appears to make a motion with his hand to the supporters.

After being heckled by Manchester United fans during their Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday evening, Marcus Rashford has denied giving the finger to them.

The 24-year-old England international appeared in the final 23 minutes of the European encounter but had no influence as the Spanish champions prevailed 1-0. (2-1 on aggregate). United’s wait for their next major trophy has now lasted six years as a result of the result.

A United supporter videotaped Rashford as he exited Old Trafford on Tuesday evening. “Come on, Rashford,” one supporter yelled in an attempt to attract the player’s attention. “After that performance, come on boys,” said another.

Rashford responded to the incident on Twitter, yesterday evening.

After speaking with a steward, Rashford walked away, signaling with his right hand. Although the footballer has now clarified this was not the case, several social media users feel he was giving the finger.

    A fan is later heard saying: “F*****g b*****d, f*****g b*****d.” Another added: “He was f*****g s***e.”

Since last summer’s Euros, Rashford has had a difficult season for United, scoring just five goals in all competitions. In his previous two seasons, he scored a total of 43 club goals. According to reports on Tuesday, he could be sidelined by Gareth Southgate for England’s upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast.

Chris Waddle, an ex-England winger, said of Rashford’s performance against Atletico: “Some of the players have been here [at United] for too long.” Rashford does not appear to be happy to be here. He’s certainly lost something, whether it’s confidence or believe.
