    Manchester United central midfielder, Paul Pogba took to his Instagram page to share a picture of himself posing next to his late father, Fassou Antoine Pogba.

    In the picture, the 29-year-old French footballer and his late father stood on a stage with microphones in front of Fassou Antoine Pogba.

    In the caption, the French international who is currently on international duties with France national team simply wrote: “Miss you Papa”.

    Fashion Antoine Pogba died in May 2017 when he was 79-year-old. He died after battling with an undisclosed illness.

    One of his last public appearances the 79-year-old made was in the 2016 European Championship. He was at the stadium to watch his son play one of the games in Euro 2016.

    The public got to know that Paul Pogba’s father was sick in March 2017. The Manchester United midfielder shared a picture then showing when he posed with his father at a hospital. A cake was placed before them.

    The picture was to mark Fassou Antoine Pogba’s 79th birthday. Unfortunately for the footballer’s father, he died a month after his 79th birthday.

    Based on this, today, March 27, 2022, ought to be his 84th birthday. Hence, Paul Pogba took out time to celebrate his late father with an Instagram post.

    Recall that a year after he died, Paul Pogba led France to win the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

    Paul Pogba and his contract tussle with Manchester United

    Paul Pogba is a product of the Manchester United youth system. He left the club on August 3, 2012, for Juventus on a free transfer.

    After four years, he returned to Manchester United for a transfer fee worth €105 million. Since then, he has scored 39 goals and has provided 51 assists in all competitions.

    Currently, he has less than three months left on his contract with Manchester United. The Premier League club has been trying to renew his stay at the club but the Frenchman has been making demands the club is not willing to accept.

    According to reports, Pogba who currently earns around £290,000 per week at Old Trafford, wants the Premier League club to pay him double his current pay before he can accept a new deal. However, reports claimed that United is willing to pay him just £400,000 per week.

    In an interview with Telefoot recently, Paul Pogba said: “Nothing is decided on my future, there is nothing done.

    “I can decide tomorrow, as I can decide during the transfer window. I want to come back, finish the season well.

    The season is not over yet, but almost because we don’t have any more titles to play for. I want to win titles, to play for something, and this year and the last few years we haven’t won a title. It’s sad.”

    So far this season, Paul Pogba whose contract with Manchester United will expire on June 30, 2022, has scored one goal and provided 9 assists in 23 games in all competitions.
