Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba would not play for France’s national team during the November FIFA international break. He sustained a right thigh injury during training at the national team camp on Monday.

Paul Pogba was among the first set of players to report to camp ahead of France’s World Cup qualification matches against Kazakhstan and Finland.

Before he joined up with the national team, he took to his Instagram page to share pictures showing when he landed at the team’s hotel. In the caption, the 28-year-old midfielder wrote: “Now focus on @equipedefrance”.

Unfortunately for the Manchester United star, he was seen limping off the training pitch. Afterward, he was allowed to leave the training session with the team’s doctor Franck Le Gall.

Initially, the extent of the injury was not clear. Hours after he left the training camp, the French Football Federation (FFF) announced that the football star would not be fit enough for the country’s World Cup qualification matches.

“Paul Pogba is forced to withdraw from France’s next two games at the Parc des Princes against Kazakhstan and Finland in Helsinki,” the FFF statement read.

The French FA has replaced the Manchester United midfielder with AS Roma football star, Jordan Veretout. Hence, Paul Pogba is expected to return to Manchester United to recuperate.

The last time Pogba played for Manchester United was on October 24, 2021, when Liverpool visited Old Trafford to beat Manchester United 5-0. He was shown a red card in the second half of the match.

Due to the red card, the Frenchman missed Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on October 20, and also missed United’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City on November 6.

If he can heal before November 20, when Manchester United are expected to take on Watford, he will be permitted to play in the Premier League game.

On the other hand, if the injury lasts longer than expected, Paul Pogba’s absence in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad might be a big blow to Manchester United that are currently struggling to win games.

The club is currently out of the top four which means that the team needs all the best legs at the club for subsequent Premier League games.

Aside from Paul Pogba’s injury woes, some fans of Manchester United have been very critical of his performance in the club. Amid that, the club is trying to renew his stay beyond June 30, 2022, the last day of his current contract with the Red Devils.

As for France national team, the team might not miss Pogba during their last two World Cup qualification games this November. The team is topping its group with 12 points and all the team needs to do is to beat either Kazakhstan or Finland this November to earn a spot in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
