Paul Pogba agent Rafaela Pimenta has broken silence after her client failed a doping test.
The agent issued a statement after the test was carried out, saying: “We are waiting for the counter analysis, and until then, we can’t say anything. The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rule.
The former Manchester United midfielder has been provisionally suspended by national anti-doping officials after they saw traces of testosterone in his urine.
This substance was found in his urine after Juventus first Serie A game in the 2023–24 season against Udinese on August 20, 2023, where the Old Lady defeated their counterpart 3-0.
If found guilty, Paul Pogba could face a four-year ban. Pogba has three days to produce a counter-analysis of the results.
The length of the suspension will depend on whether he took the substance deliberately or not.
However, Paul Pogba will undergo a second round of testing in order to determine a definitive result.
Injuries have limited Paul Pogba’s playing time since he rejoined Juventus from Manchester United.
In the 2022–23 season, the French midfielder played only 10 matches for Juventus. His injuries made him miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri revealed that Paul Pogba played just three matches this season before picking yet another injury.
He is yet to return to his best form since he joined the Old Lady in 2022/23 season.
The former Manchester United midfielder is also considering retiring from football after he was the target of an £11 million blackmail plot by his friends. Also, he was heavily criticized by his own family who release horrible statement about him.
In an interview released by Al Jazeera, Paul Pogba said “When there is money you have to be careful. Money changes people. It can break up a family. It can create war.”
“Sometimes I was just by myself, thinking, I don’t want to have money anymore. I just don’t want to play anymore. I just want to be normal, so that they will love me for me, not for fame or money.”
