Paris Saint-Germain is preparing aggressively to get ready for their first Champions League finals and would face the five-times winner Bayern Munich on Sunday. Below is a video of PSG player in training as they are trying to finetune their touches in preparation for the 2020 Champions League match that will take place tomorrow August 23, 2020.
The German champions have also reached the final for the first time since 2013, putting an end to four semi-final losses with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Lyon.
For the first time since 1998, the Champions League final will feature two teams who made it into the competition as domestic league champions.
Tuchel, who has lost more matches in his managerial career against Bayern than any other team, would lead Paris Saint Germain into this highly-anticipated showdown.
This time around, however, his PSG side has been preparing intensively for the showdown and he would be going into the game with one of footballs deadliest trio in Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, and Angel di Maria.
Neymar signed for the PSG for a world-record £198million, after eliminating them with Barcelona in one of the biggest comebacks in football history.
The 28-year-old is not new to the competition’s final, having scored in the 2015 final for Barcelona en route to clinching the title. Should he get on the scoresheet on Sunday, he would become the third player to score in the final for two different teams, along with Cristiano Ronaldo and Mario Mandzukic.
He has been superb in PSG Champions League run this season. His dribbling and flair has been a joy to watch as constantly lights up the competition. In 6 appearances, he has been directly involved in seven goals, recording three goals and four assists.
Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria will also be vital to PSG’s hopes of beating Bayern.
Following a £163million move to the Parc des Princes, Kylian Mbappe has developed into one of the deadliest frontman in world football.
He has five goals and five assists to his name in nine appearances, while Di Maria has scored three goals while providing six assists in 8 games.
Mbappe would keep the Bayern full-backs busy with his lightning speed from the left flank while Neymar’s dribbling abilities and Di Maria’s eye for picking out a perfect pass would be a proper test for the Bayern Munich defense.
Thomas Tuchel has guided PSG to the verge of the much sought after Champions League success.
Tuchel’s side has scored 136 goals this season in all competitions. They have also scored 25 goals en route to the finals and have only failed to win once, when they played a 2-2 draw away to Real Madrid.
With the final taking place in Lisbon on Sunday, the entire football world would be watching to see if Paris Saint-Germain finally lift the trophy.
