German international Mesut Ozil will see out the remainder of his £350,000-a-week contract at the Emirates, that is, according to his agent. Ozil had a public fallen out with former manager Unai Emery earlier in the season which left many to believe his time at the North London club may be coming to an end.

Since Emery’s exit, the attacking midfielder has since been reinstated by new club manager Mikel Arteta. Since regaining his first-team fold, Ozil has started all but one of their last 17 Premier League matches. The 31-year-old is still considered a divisive figure at the Emirates among fans and his high salary per week has proven he is still a hotshot for the Emirates.

But former Arsenal players believe the German’s time at the Emirates is far exceeded and have called on Arsenal to move on from the midfielder and use his salary earnings in the transfer market.

Ozil’s agent Dr. Erkut Sogut has debunked rumors of the Gunners winger leaving the club over the summer. Sogut said Ozil has no plans on making an exit from the club until his contract expires in 2021.

“At the moment, we don’t even talk about it, because he still has one-and-a-half-years left,” Sogut told media outlets when asked about Ozil potentially leaving the Emirates.

“He still has 15 months to go. Until then, he will stay at Arsenal, for sure. He will stay until the end of his contract. There’s no chance he’ll leave” Sogut added.

Sogut has revealed Arsenal is yet to open talks on a new contract for Ozil, which may mean they are potentially planing a future without the German.

Meanwhile, Arsenal has suffered a low blow as they were knocked out of the Europa League by Greek side Olympiacos. Arteta’s men were defeated on away goals after a 2-1 extra-time loss at the North London stadium.

Gabon international and Arsenal striker netted the Gunners’ only goal. Arsenal initially took a goal lead into the home match of the round of 32 tie. But the Gunners were unable to capitalize on their lead which saw a second-half goal from Pape Abou Cisse take the match to extra time.

A fantastic acrobatic goal from Aubameyang in the 113th minute seemed like enough for the Gunners to advance to the next stage. However, with one minute left, the Gunners defenders started slacking in which Youssef El-Arabi took advantage of the opportunity to put Olympiacos through on away goals.
