Oxlade-Chamberlain will not play any game this year after suffering ankle ligament damage during Liverpool Club World Cup victory over Flamengo last Saturday.

Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp says the midfielder will be out of line during their last two matches in 2019. This means he will not play against Leicester City and Wolves after sustaining the injury 15 minutes to claim the Champions.

Though the former Arsenal player is out for the year, Klopp is still not sure when he will return 2020 as he waits on further medical reports.

Since Chamberlain joins centre-backs Joel Matip with Knee injury and Dejan Lovren suffering groin pain, then midfielder Fabinho having ankle injury. It will be a heavy blow on the Reds as confirmed by Klopp.

However, the German manager reveals that the earlier injury players of the team are making good progress but are not ready to return.

Well, Klopp does not hesitate to be strong even when facing huge challenges like missing his key members of the squad. He claims to fix the loopholes while awaiting their comebacks.

Klopp says at his conference ”With Oxlade, it was probably what we expected. You have three ligaments on the outside of the ankle and one of them is damaged, now we have to see how quick we can fix that.

“I don’t know exactly, I had that injury myself but it’s years ago. It can take a while or it can be quicker, but no chance for Thursday [against Leicester] or this year.”

Liverpool is 10-point lead off second-place Leicester at the King Power Stadium with an outstanding game with West Ham United.
