Olympique Marseille Sign Geronimo Rulli From Ajax

Former Ajax goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli is set for a new chapter in French Ligue 1 as he signs for Ligue 1  club Olympique Marseille.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Rulli has signed a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 outfit, which will run until the summer of 2027.

Detail of the deal reveals that Olympique Marseille will pay about €3 million to Ajax for the services of the footballer.

Rulli is the 12th signing this summer for Olympique Marseille, who have already signed Mason Greenwood, Ismaël Koné, Bamo Meité, Derek Cornelius, Daniel Mabomba, Théo Vermont, Lilian Brassier, Valentin Carboni, Pierre-Emile Højberg, Alexandre Issanga, and Jeffrey de Lange.

He is also the third goalkeeper signing for head coach Roberto De Zerbi, who is hoping for a sensational debut campaign with the Ligue 1 side. Bayern Munich led the list of clubs who were interested in Rulli, including La Liga clubs Real Betis and Villarreal.

Gerónimo Rulli, born on 20 May 1992, is an Argentine footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Ligue 1 club Marseille and the Argentina national team.

Gerónimo Rulli Career

Gerónimo Rulli started his football career at the Estudiantes youth team from 2009 to 2011.
He started his senior career at the Estudiantes senior team in 2011, spending three years at the club before making a move to Real Sociedad in 2014.

In 2020, he was loaned to Montpellier and was finally sold in that same year to Villarreal, where he spent three years. He was then sold to Ajax Amsterdam in 2023, and now joining Villarreal in 2024.

At the international level, Rulli has played for the Argentina Olympic team from 2016 to 2024. He had his first call-up to the senior team in 2018.
