Olympique Marseille have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Senegalese Ismaila Sarr from Watford.
Sarr moved to the Vicarage Road for a club record fee of £28.8 million in 2019 from Rennes and has endured a mixed stint at Watford.
Ismaila Sarr couldn’t assist in keeping the Hornets in the Premier League during his first team at the club, despite scoring 5 goals and providing 6 assists in 28 appearances.
However, the 25-year-old helped the club get back up to the Premier League by winning the championship. He scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 Championship appearances.
Subsequently, Sarr eschewed his qualities, scoring 5 goals and 2 assists in 22 Premier League appearances but Watford still returned to the Championship.
In spite of interest from Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, the Senegal International opted to remain at Vicarage Road.
Ismaila Sarr scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists in 39 appearances for the Hornets last season.
He amassed impressive numbers but he couldn’t guide his side to the Premier League.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Sarr will pen a five-year deal with Marseille, meaning he will remain with the club until at least the summer of 2028.

The Italian journalist additionally reports that the French side is waiting for a green light to book medical tests in 24 – 48 hours.
His contract with Watford ends in the summer of 2024 and reports indicate that there have been no attempts to further his deal at the club.
According to the Athletic, “personal terms have already been agreed by both parties” and Ismaila Sarr will be returning to Ligue 1.
Ismaila Sarr began his professional football career at French side Metz before joining Stade Rennais in July 2017.
He afterwards joined Watford in August 2019 from Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais for a fee of €30 million.
Sarr has scored 34 goals and provided 24 assists in 131 appearances for Watford since joining the club in 2019.
He will become Olympique Marseille’s sixth signing this summer, having already signed Geoffrey Kondogbia, Renan Lodi, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Amine Harit.
Ismaila Sarr will be looking to complement Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in attack for Marcelino García’s side and he should be able to come good, having previously played in the Ligue 1.
