The manager of Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the club’s midfielder Paul Pogba would not be available for a ‘few weeks’.

This means that the France international would not be able to feature in Manchester United’s FA Cup 5th round match against West Ham United scheduled for February 9, at 20:30.

Paul Pogba who has been enjoying tremendous form since the beginning of the new year had to be substituted in the first half of the league match between Manchester United and Everton on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

After the match which ended 3-3 at Old Trafford, the manager of the Red Devils confirmed that the French midfielder was forced out of the game due to a thigh injury and the injury would keep him out of football for a while.

Before the club was able to determine the extent of the injury, the 27-year-old Frenchman had to undergo a scan which identified that Pogba is suffering a thigh injury.

All things being equal, Paul Pogba would not be available for all the remaining fixtures of Manchester United in February, including the club’s Europa League doubleheader against Real Sociedad (February 18 and February 25).

“It’s an injury that will take a few weeks to heal”, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told MUTV.

“He’s just started his recovery, working with the medical staff and we’ll get him back as soon and as safely as we can.

“Of course, Paul has been very important for us and we’re not going to take any risks. [So it is] a few weeks definitely.

“You never want to be injured and especially now Paul was really finding his form and enjoying his football. For us, we just have to take as many points and wins as possible when you lose players.

“We’ve been very healthy and strong for a long period so we can’t moan too much.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer describes Dean Henderson as not being ‘the most patient guy’

The manager of Manchester United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has described his second-choice goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, as not being ‘the most patient guy’.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper who spent two seasons on loan at Sheffield United is competing to takeover from United’s first-choice goalkeeper David de Gea.

Since he returned from his loan spell before the commencement of the 2020-2021 season, he has managed to make just three Premier League appearances in which he kept one clean sheet. Despite such a form, he has remained second fiddle to De Gea.

Where he has been having more game time is in the EFL Cup (4 appearances). He is sometimes used to execute FA Cup games (2 appearances).

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has always been under pressure from the critics of David de Gea to replace the Spanish goalkeeper with the English goalie but the coach prefers to keep De Gea ahead of Henderson.

“Dean has played well whenever he’s got the chance. He’s matured and for me, he’s developed his game”, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said.

“I know he’s not played as many games as he would have last season, but you see every game when he plays and in training his improvement.

“He’s working hard on a couple of aspects of his game we’ve spoken about with him, and I’ve been impressed with his attitude and work rate.

“Of course, he’s not the most patient guy. He wants to play every game because he knows he’ll perform well, so long may it continue because he’s improved since he came [back] here.”
