UEFA has released fixtures for 2022/23 Europa League Round of 16, with blockbuster clashes expected.
All Europa League group winners were already seeded while second-placed teams were yet to be seeded.
The second-placed teams had to battle it out with teams who finished third in the Champions League group stages in the playoffs before progressing to meet the Europa League group winners in the round of 16.
The seeded teams who won their Europa League groups include Arsenal, Union SG, Fenerbahce, Ferencvaros, Real Betis, Real Sociedad, Feyenoord, and Freiburg.
The unseeded teams who qualify via playoffs included Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen, Roma, Union Berlin, Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Sporting CP.
Manchester United eliminated Barcelona in the playoffs after a thrilling two-legged tie that saw the Red Devils secure a 4-3 aggregate win over the Catalans.
Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk qualify via penalties. Roma, Sporting CP, union Berlin, Juventus, Sevilla, qualify through aggregate win.
Teams eliminated from the playoffs include Barcelona, Nantes, Salzburg, Midjtilland, Rennes, Monaco, Ajax, and PSV.
2022/23 Europa League Round 16 Pairings
Union Berlin who defeated and eliminated former winners of the tournament and Dutch giants Ajax from the tournament will play Union SG.
Record winners of the competiton, Sevilla will host Turkish side Fenerbahce before traveling to Turkey for the second leg.
Serie A giants, who bundled out French Ligue 1 side Nantes, are paired against Germany’s Freiburg. The Old Ladies will host Freiburg in Turin for the first leg before traveling to Germany for the second leg.
Another Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen will host Ferencvaros in the first leg before taking a trip to Hungary to take on the Hungarian giants.
Arsenal will travel to Portugal to take on Sporting CP before hosting the Portuguese giants at Emirates.
Serie A side Roma will take on La Liga giants Real Sociedad while Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk have been paired with Feyenoord.
Erik Ten Hag’s Manchester United will battle La Liga side Real Betis, with the Red Devils hosting the LaLiga club before traveling to Spain for the second leg.

Teams from the same UEFA association were ensured they are not paired together with preference given to teams of different UEFA associations.
All Europa League group winners will travel to take on their oppoents in the first leg before hosting them in the second leg.
The first leg of the 2022/23 Europa League round 16 will take place on March 7, while the second leg is scheduled to take place on March 16.
