The win has seen the team climb to the last automatic spot (6th position) for the 2026 World Cup qualification with 12 points while Colombia missed out on a chance to close the gap on Argentina at the top.

England dominated the headlines with a shock home defeat to visiting Greece at Wembley Stadium.
After a barren first half, 25-year-old Benfica forward Vangelis Pavlidis scored four minutes into the second half to give Greece the lead. Three minutes from regulation time, Jude Bellingham restored parity with a goal but a resilient Greek side were determined to come out victorious at Wembley.
Pavlidis scored again deep into stoppage time to secure victory for the visitors. The victory saw Greece make it three wins out of three in League B Group 2 with England suffering their first defeat in the Group.
In another result, France put Israel to rot with a thumping 4-1 away victory despite missing Kylian Mbappe. Goals from Eduardo Camavinga, Christopher Nkunku, Guendozi, and Barcola saw Les Bleus eased to victory. The win saw the French team go second in League A, Group 2 with 6 points, a point behind Italy at the top.
Italy settled for a 2-2 draw in the group. Goals from Cambiaso and Retegui gave the hosts the lead before they were pegged back to a 2-2 draw. De Cuyper and Leandro Trossard scored for the away side to tie the score after Italy player Pellegrini was red-carded.
