Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has aggressively abused former Super Eagles international Mikel Obi after scoring a goal against Wolves in the Premier League.
Jackson took to his Instagram page to directly send a message to Mikel Obi, tagging the former Chelsea midfielder to the post after apparently hearing what he said.
Jackson was extremely upset about the comments made by Mikel Obi during his punditry duties at BeInSport.
Mikel Obi heavily criticized Jackson’s performance in the Chelsea 2-0 defeat against Manchester City in the Premier League opener.
He believed the Chelsea striker didn’t have the qualities to be a top striker for the club with the way he hit the ball.
Mikel proceeded to offer Chelsea a chance to sign Victor Osimhen before the end of the transfer window.
Mikel said, “You need to have a striker who knows how to hit a ball in the back of the net, and that’s what we don’t have.”
“I know I talk so much about him, and sometimes I sound like I disrespect him, but I don’t disrespect him.”
The Senegalese scored the first goal for the Chelsea side against Wolves and proceeded to create an assist for Cole Palmer as Chelsea comfortably defeated Wolves 6-2.
His goal against Wolves was the fastest goal in the Premier League since 2017. Jackson found the back of the net in the 98 seconds of the match.
However, Jackson needs to find the consistency to avoid losing his place to another world-class striker if Chelsea decide to sign one before the end of the transfer window.
Last season, he missed 23 clear changes in the Premier League.
