The 2018 World Cup winner N’golo Kante has been recalled to the French national team as one
of the 25-man squad ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany.
Kante is one of the greatest players to have ever graced the English top flight, winning major
titles with Leicester City and Chelsea.
The Al-Ittihad midfielder played a prominent role in the success of the national team in the 2018
World Cup.
He was famously recognized as the midfielder who stopped Lionel Messi when the France
national team defeated Argentina.
However, he wasn’t available for selection for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after he
suffered injuries. The last time he played for France was in the 2022 Nations League, where the
team lost to Denmark.
France manager Didier Deschamps revealed the reason N’golo Kante was selected for the
tournament in Germany.
He said, “Kante will influence the French national team, and it will aid the squad in Germany.”
Deschamps added, “He has played a full season, albeit not in a European league, as
he is in Saudi Arabia.
“He’s back to full fitness. With his experience, I’m convinced that the French team will be
stronger with N’Golo Kante.”
The French national team is one of the favorites to win the tournament, with world-class players
like Kylian Mbappe and Oliver Giroud.
Mbappe was a key player when France won the 2018 FIFA World Cup against Croatia. He is set
to lead the France national team attack in the Euros in 2024.
Premier League Players Who Were Not Called Upon By The France National Team For the
Euro 2024 in Germany
France manager Deschamps had failed to call upon Chelsea in form right back Malo Gusto,
center back Axel Disasi, and injury-prone Christopher Nkunku.
Also, the manager failed to call upon Crystal Palace stars Michael Olise and Jean Mateta. Aston
Villa’s midfielder Boubacar Kamara was not also called due to injury. Aston Villa attacker Moussa Diaby had been overlooked by the French manager, Deschamps.
