Neymar recently moved to Saudi Arabian Pro League side Al Hilal and the club reportedly sold over 10,000 jerseys of his in 7 hours.
The move by the Brazilian has created a fresh wave of enthusiasm for football in the Middle East same as when Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr.
The former Santos and Barcelona man left PSG to join Al-Hilal for a massive transfer, making his presence in the league that has been signing European based players since last winter.
We also reported that Al Hilal completed the signing of Neymar from Paris Saint Germain for a transfer fee of €90 million.
And Neymar went on to pen a two-year deal with the Saudi Pro League club, which is valid until 2025.
The former Barcelona man became Al Hilal’s 5th signing this summer, having already signed Malcom, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinković-Savić, and Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 32-year-old is one of the biggest stars to move to the Middle East together with Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo who are the headline superstars in Saudi Arabia.
Fresh reports now have it that since Neymar signed for the Saudi side, the club sold out his number 10 jersey in a matter of hours following his unveiling.
Futballnews understands that one staff from Al-Hilal’s official store in Riyadh revealed that close to 10,000 jerseys were snapped up online in a mere seven-hour span.
And funnily, this massive sale happened subsequent to the official announcement of Neymar’s transfer.
Another shop employee in amazement said that “It’s the first time I’ve seen that,” and added that the sale was similar, with all the available jerseys with Neymar’s name on them selling out within minutes.
Fans could not hold their amazement at the arrival of Neymar to their league, and are looking forward to his debut.

When Will Al-Hilal unveil Neymar?
Neymar’s official presentation as an Al-Hilal player will happen on the 26th of August, 2023, at the King Fahd International Stadium.
Al-Hilal are in safe hands under the guidance of Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, who joined the team on July 1, with also other big stars such as Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Kalidou Koulibaly and Yassine Bono.
